These are two posters meant to fashionably illustrate the vice Greed and the corresponding virtue, Charity. An assignment for Lifestyle class The originals are for 18x24 posters, which is nice, since I like to work big
I love this! Such a fun take on the concept. Of course, I do have a soft spot for dragons. I like how the woman who's yelling about the charity people is in both posters.
The image has a wonderful flow with it in that gold dragon. I also really like the choice of manifesting the wealth in this form. The charitable people are on the ass-end, in the background, can go unappreciated and possibly criticized (like what the complaining lady is doing.) But then again, all the wealthy folk have the part with teeth and horns.
I particularly like your mythologically related work and how it captures it in such a blunt light. The depiction of the Apollo myth( where he skins the flutist alive) was shocking to me.
I had never heard of that story until I saw that work. I will never think of Apollo the same way again.
Well, thank you very much XD I have a little...TOO much fun reinterpreting mythology like that, but it's true that Apollo was very bizarrely brutal. It really interests me how callously the story goes, even in the original version. I keep having to stop myself, thinking "Wait, WHAT? He LOST a music competition to you so you SKIN HIM ALIVE? WHAT? Apollo, WHAT??" Conclusion: He must be a psycho nut.

Across the globe, 27 million men, women, and children live in some form of slavery. That is more people at this moment than in all the centuries of the Atlantic Slave Trade. Something must be done. This contest serves two purposes: Raising awareness about human trafficking and raising funds for the Not For Sale organization.
Open to all mediums. Deadline is March 10, 2010 @ 11:59pm PST.
